Dr. Sahibzada Ali Mahmud has diverse experience of more than 15 years in the area of information and communication technologies (ICT). He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Brunel University London.
In his current role as Chief Information and Strategy Officer (CISO) at KPEZDMC, he is responsible for determining short term and long-term ICT related strategic initiatives for the company and its digital transformation. He has made various policy level interventions and is a co-developer of Digital Policy for the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and developer of Digital Strategy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Besides that, he also leads the design and Implementation of an integrated ICT based framework for Industrial Estates and Special Economic Zones.
He was among the two Pakistani’s to win an award in digital transformation of businesses at The World CIO 200 Summit 2019 held in UAE. He has worked on various projects in the domain of Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Grids and Artificial Intelligence. He holds a US Patent for a solution in the domain of Smart Grids and has published more than 80 peer reviewed papers in various reputed international Journals and Conferences. He writes part time on various aspects of digital transformation in The News which is among the most widely circulated English periodicals in Pakistan. He is currently working on revising the Industrial Policy for KP to enable economic growth and job creation through development of competitive Special Economic Zones in KP. In addition to the revised Industrial Policy, he is also a member of focus group on developing an Investment Policy for KP.
